The company
Dropinn - Icelandic charity for children with diabetes was founded in 1995.
.
Dropinn (Icelandic for "Bloðdropinn") is a voluntary organization for children with diabetes. Membership is open to children with the disease, their families, relatives and caregivers.
.
Our goal is to improve the lives of children with diabetes by providing practical support and information. We are also committed to protecting the interests of children with diabetes by advocating for better standards of care and the best possible quality of life.
.
One of our two key roles is to host events where children with diabetes meet other children with the disease and their families to share and learn from each other in a relaxed and fun environment.
.
Our other key role is to run the Dropinn summer camp. Our annual support holidays are packed with fun, activities and adventure – offering a unique opportunity to be amongst people who understand. Developing a positive attitude and establishing confidence in diabetes management are among the main aims of the celebrations.
.
The summer camp is supervised by qualified staff and instructors who are very aware of the needs of children and teenagers with diabetes. Doctors and nurses monitor the children's diabetes management on a daily basis, while meals are planned to meet individual needs. The program is designed to increase the children's understanding of their diabetes while having fun.
